Director of Operations

Inland Empire Distribution Systems Inc. (IEDS Logistics) is a privately held, 30+ years, fast growing premier third party logistics (3PL) company headquartered in Spokane, Washington. IEDS specializes in four market sectors; industrial, forestry, chemical, and consumer products.

The primary functions of this position are to provide the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure the company has proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive, and energetic, style guided by the objectives of the company.

A member of upper management, the Director of Operations, located in Spokane, WA, oversees multiple operating units insuring they maintain or exceed service levels within measurable parameters used to evaluate and manage the efficiency and effectiveness of meeting customer expectations.

Primary Duties:
• Meet or exceed budget goals for all assigned operating units.
• Evaluate performance of reporting personnel and mentor succession plans for each direct report.
• Design or tailor service programs to meet customers’ needs.
• Sales and marketing activities
• Complete annual budgets with management and staff.
• Present budget forecasts, annual objectives, 3 year strategic goals, and business continuity plan.
• Champion safe and secure operating environment.
• Evaluation and procurement of capital assets.
• Position reports to President.

Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills.
• Stable work history with strong leadership accomplishments.
• Computer skills – industry related software, Excel, Word, Outlook, accounting systems.
• Able to strategize and communicate at the C-level.
• Knowledgeable of the supply chain management.
• Leadership – proven ability to motivate people.
• Project management experience with demonstrated results.

Education:
• Business Administration Degree from reputable university.
• MBA or similar graduate degree is a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and processes within the logistics profession.

Operations Coordinator

Join the fastest growing regional leader in freight logistics and distribution in domestic and international markets.

The Operations Coordinator provides administrative support, logistical assistance and guidance to field managers to ensure contract and DOT compliance within our operating environment; as well as provide direct support to the Contract Services Manager. Primary duties are in the areas of safety, customer service, data management, and procurement.

Reports to: Contract Services Manager

Qualifications:
• Associates’ degree preferred. Four (4) years’ experience may be substituted for education.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ administrative experience
• Minimum of two (2) years’ invoice and/or procurement processing
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to read customer orders and follow safety regulations
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
• Attention to detail
• Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Transportation experience preferred

Transportation Supervisor

The primary functions of this position are to manage assigned personnel and budgets within the Transportation Division, as directed by the Regional Transportation Manager.

Responsibilities:
· Manage assigned departmental budgets and growth.
· Meet and/or exceed budget contribution margins.
· Manage the safe operation of vehicles and drivers.
· Manage dispatchers – review processes, tracking of equipment.
· Oversee and ensure accurate and timely billing.
· Provide operating reports to measure performance standards set by IEDS and its customers.
· Responsible for compliance oversight of government regulations.
· Develop strategies to achieve departmental goals.
· Develop successor to fulfill duties of the position in your absence.
· Conduct Performance Evaluations of all direct reporting personnel. Oversee Performance Evaluations of entire department.
· Develop effective procurement protocol and approve all departmental expenses.
• Participate in marketing and sales. Customer entertaining & travel required.
• Perform other duties as assigned to grow business, implement safety procedures, or ensure customer service excellence.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related fields. Substantial work experience may substitute for a formal degree.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Stable work history.
• Computer skills – Industry related software, Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Significant transportation experience; knowledgeable of LTL and truckload.
• Budgeting and P&L - basic knowledge.
• Leadership – proven ability to lead and motivate team.

• Personnel supervisory experience.

Moses Lake, WA

Local Truck Driver

We are looking for capable and dedicated individuals with a can-do attitude to work in our Moses Lake operation as a local driver. This position is responsible for the transport of dry van equipment for local freight, as well as having the capability to operate forklift.

Our great drivers possess valid Class A CDL and are able to load/unload via forklift when/if necessary. Drivers run freight locally Monday – Friday; home daily.

Job Responsibilities & Duties:
• Daily delivery of our customers’ freight in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
• Provide superior customer service.
• Assist dock operations with the loading/unloading of freight.
• Maintain logs (Electronic or paper).
• Conduct Pre-trip inspections and monitor vehicle performance to ensure safe operation.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule - hours may vary based on shift and freight volumes but always home daily.
• Other duties as assigned.
