Transportation - Fleet Dispatcher

IEDS Logistics, headquartered in Spokane, is now recruiting for Fleet Dispatcher position. This position is responsible for scheduling, routing and route monitoring for our team of Class A CDL drivers operating within a 150 mile origin or destination radius.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Schedule day-to-day activities for fleet and contract drivers.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Provide leadership and direction to fleet drivers.
  • Track preventative maintenance intervals for fleet equipment, and assist Fleet Supervisor regarding major repairs for fleet equipment and on purchases of new equipment.
  • Other projects assigned by Fleet Supervisor.

qualifications:

  • Transportation industry experience 5 years.
  • Supervisory experience 1 year.
  • Dispatching / Driver Management experience 1 year preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read customer orders and determine type of equipment necessary to safely transport material.
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving; especially in scenarios with limited established processes.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations governing driver credentials, Hours of Service, vehicles, Authorities, cargo securement, and legal load limits.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Software, Warehouse Management Software and other computer software required to perform essential duties.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Operations Training at our 425,000 sq. ft. campus in Spokane, WA.
  • Warehouse Management Systems: customer comm. and inventory control.
  • Transportation training in freight movements around North America.
  • MIS training with IEDS WMS, TMS or YMS systems, depending on the department.

qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree from accredited university: Business Administration (accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing) or Engineering (all options) are preferred.
  • Desire to lead and manage.

Transportation Manager

This position is responsible for managing the activities associated with fleet service operations. The Transportation Manager has department oversight of revenue and expense, regulatory compliance with state agencies and Federal DOT, management and direction of dispatch, billing, and delivery services, as well as high safety standards.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Inspections of equipment, tractors, and trailers, ensuring preventative maintenance and repairs are completed timely.
  • Annual budgeting and cost analysis capabilities to grow business and control expenditures.
  • Marketing; partners to develop market strategy, actively sells, develops relationships, negotiates rates and terms of contracts
  • Manages and executes transportation service plans to meet or exceed performance standards and meet on-time delivery.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and develops action plans for implementation.
  • Utilizes systems and tools to collect and analyze data for planning and decision-making.
  • Utilizes routing software systems
  • Safety leadership to enhance and implement safety awareness programs, communicates safety issues, corrects safety-related problems, and investigates safety-related issues.
  • Travel required from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree from accredited University: Business Administration or Engineering preferred.
  • Leadership abilities to train, mentor, and motivate
  • 5+ years transportation experience
  • Detail-oriented, positive attitude, takes initiative.

  • Greeting customers and drivers

  • Tracking daily metrics for inbound & outbound transactions

Qualifications:

Do you like your Free Time?? Come join the IEDS National Hostling team in Lewiston, ID. You will work a 4 on 4 off schedule. Our associates are valued for their quality service, and through their efforts, IEDS provides an important function in supply chain services.

The CDL Vehicle Driver/Hostler will be responsible for moving trailers within the designated customer site (Lewiston ID). The CDL Vehicle Driver/Hostler will remotely receive and process trailer movements via onboard tablets.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work jointly with customer and IEDS Hostling Services
  • Adherence to safety policies and practices
  • Punctuality
  • Excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of local/state traffic laws
  • Daily vehicle inspections, and preventative care

Qualifications:

  • Experience operating CDL vehicles, CDL-A Preferred
  • 21 years of age
  • No disqualifying traffic violations within the previous 3 years
